How to prepare a clean signature
The formatter works best when the original is legible. Sign on plain, unruled white paper with a dark blue or black pen. Keep the paper flat, use even light, and leave a small margin around every stroke.
- Place the paper near a window or under broad, even light.
- Hold the phone parallel to the paper to avoid a slanted crop.
- Make sure no finger, shadow, line, or fold crosses the signature.
- Keep the original image until the official application accepts the upload.
What this tool changes
After you choose an image, the page crops it to the signature canvas, applies a configurable background-whitening pass, adds whitespace around the strokes, and searches for a JPEG quality that fits the example size range.
What it cannot decide
It cannot confirm the current exam’s exact rules, judge whether a signature matches your identity, or guarantee portal acceptance. Read the signature guide and compare the final file with the active notification.
One site, two practical workflows
SSC applications may ask for more than one image. Use the photo formatter to crop and compress a portrait image locally, then read the photo guide for capture and upload checks. The two tools are separate so you can use the correct workflow for each file type.
