What is the signature file size requirement for SSC CGL & SSC GD?
For all SSC exams (including SSC CGL, SSC GD, CHSL, MTS, CPO), the signature file size must be strictly between 10 KB and 20 KB in JPG/JPEG format. The dimensions should be 4.0 cm × 2.0 cm or 6.0 cm × 2.0 cm (approx 709 × 236 px at 300 DPI).
What is the passport photo size for SSC exams?
When an uploaded passport photo is required, the file size must be between 20 KB and 50 KB in JPG/JPEG format with dimensions of 3.5 cm width × 4.5 cm height.
Why does the SSC portal reject my signature?
Common reasons include: (1) File size is under 10 KB or over 20 KB; (2) Saved as PNG, WEBP, or PDF instead of JPG; (3) Grey background or shadow on paper; (4) Blurry handwriting. Use our Whitening slider to clean the background paper completely.
What pen color should I use for SSC signature?
Use a dark blue or black ballpoint pen on plain, unruled white paper. Avoid gel pens that bleed or ruled notebook paper with lines.
Does SSC CGL use live webcam capture or photo upload?
In recent notifications for SSC CGL and CHSL, the official SSC portal uses a live webcam photo capture system. However, the signature must always be scanned and uploaded as a 10–20 KB JPG file. Always check your specific exam notification.
Are my photos or signatures stored on any server?
